Community Guidelines

Jurassic Depot community spaces should help users ask better questions, understand documentation, and discuss fossil listings responsibly. The goal is useful evidence, not noise, harassment, or unsupported authority.

Be specific and evidence-based

Ask clear questions, share relevant photos, explain context, and distinguish what you know from what you suspect. Unsupported claims do not help buyers or sellers.

Do not give final expert conclusions without scope

Identification, restoration, provenance, value, and legal comments should explain limits. Community discussion is not a substitute for qualified review.

Disclose conflicts

Sellers, dealers, preparators, reviewers, affiliates, and competitors should disclose relationships when commenting on listings, value, condition, or reputation.

No off-platform bypass

Do not use comments, messages, or posts to bypass platform review, payment rules, disclosure standards, or buyer-safety processes.

No harassment, impersonation, or doxxing

Do not threaten, impersonate, publish private information, or attack people instead of addressing the item, record, or claim.

Report concerns constructively

If you see possible provenance, condition, source, restoration, photo, or seller-risk issues, report the concern clearly and avoid pile-ons.

Respect sensitive location details

Do not pressure users to publish exact find locations when doing so could create site damage, privacy risk, or unsafe collecting behavior.

No fake authority

Do not imply museum, academic, legal, expert, tribal, institutional, or marketplace authority unless that role is real and relevant to the comment.

Moderation standards

— Ask for clearer wording or supporting context.
— Remove unsupported accusations, spam, or misleading claims.
— Limit accounts that repeatedly create risk or evade review.
— Hide sensitive location or personal details.
— Route listing concerns into the proper review process.
