Allosaurus was the apex predator of the Late Jurassic Morrison Formation. Its serrated, blade-like teeth are the most commonly collected large theropod teeth from the formation and a staple of the market.

Allosaurus teeth are laterally compressed, blade-like, and strongly serrated on both edges. They have a slight backward curve. The serrations (denticles) are finer than T-Rex but coarser than many small theropods. Color is typically brown to dark grey from Morrison iron-rich sediments.
